Client: Linden/Miller Homes

Value: £6.30million

At J Devine Civil Engineering, we are dedicated to delivering outstanding results, and our partnership with Linden/Miller Homes on the Chichester Infrastructure project epitomises our commitment to excellence in civil engineering. Valued at £6.30 million, this venture revolved around the development of White House Farm, located to the west of Chichester, with the potential to provide a mixed-use development that includes 1600 homes.

The White House Farm project aspired to be more than just housing; it aimed to create a vibrant community. This comprehensive vision encompassed the provision of employment land, a primary school, a local centre, and a Country Park. The scope of our work was expansive and vital to turning this vision into reality.

The Chichester Infrastructure project comprised a wide array of critical elements. To facilitate connectivity and accessibility, we undertook Section 278 (S278) works on the Old Broyle Road, involving the construction of 8,000 square metres of roads. Our commitment to environmental stewardship led us to create swales, retention ponds, and extensive culverts, ensuring efficient management of foul and surface water. We also established main services, upholding the essential infrastructure of the development. In addition, public footpaths were designed to promote walkability and community engagement, fostering a sense of connection among residents. The creation of a Country Park added a valuable recreational space for residents to enjoy.

The completion of the Chichester Infrastructure project has not only brought the prospect of 1600 homes closer to reality but has also laid the foundation for a thriving and sustainable community. The provision of employment land, educational facilities, local amenities, and a Country Park has not only met the needs of residents but has also contributed to the economic and social well-being of the area.
